More 2004 Race Information!OCT 23
The American Mountain Bike Challenge was created by NORBA in 1996. It is a series of national-level races that promotes a grassroots, low-key atmosphere. It is claimed to be the easiest way for novices to get hooked on major-time racing. It provides a friendly environment for novice riders, and a competitive atmosphere to regional riders. Cross-country racing is available at all AMBC events. If the venue allows, there may also be downhill, dual Slalom and mountain cross races. There are also short track and observed trials. Many AMBC stops also feature the Alison Dunlaps Junior Olympic Mountain Bike Series as well as Shimanos Youth Series. For more information, contact www.usacycling.org at 866-4581.
